At Dacha Oak we care deeply about our environment, especially where our timber comes from. We know that illegal logging still continues throughout the world, contributing to the deforestation of some of our most treasured forests and woodlands.

We source our oak logs from strictly managed forest in the Ukraine. The Forestry Commission in the Ukraine enforces a policy of long term sustainability by ensuring that for every treasured oak tree felled, two more are planted at the same time. 

 

There is no wastage in our ethical operation with all waste products being used as fuel for our modern kilns to achieve optimum moisture content of the oak boards. We also satisfy and exceed the requirements of the UK’s Government Environmental agency.
